CONTEMPORARY MUSIC
„Plank pushing the instrument's sonic possibilities beyond the limits of our imagination.“
(KlasikaPlus.cz, Kristýna Šrámková, 10.07.2023)
Rethinking the harp, combining tradition and innovation… by taking the harp into the 21st century. With extensive knowledge, boundless technical abilities, curiosity, and many years of experience, Elisabeth Plank has worked with composers of various styles. She has been a part in the creation of many new pieces for harp, by being a bridge between composer and instrument, translating each musical language on to the harp and making the composers rediscover the harp during the process.

“Like a medium, she makes the different types of music audible; she is not only the intermediary for the compositional intentions, but also the designer through whom the compositions are changed again during the performance. [...] it becomes very clear through her musical personality that Elisabeth Plank is a character-defining central participant in this process.”
